What is the difference between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0?

Giteqa

Everyone uses the Internet without thinking about how it works and what will happen in the future. However, everything is evolving and therefore, over time, the Internet will also change. At the moment we are using the Internet version of Web 2.0, and in the near future we will use Web 3.0 How do they differ? Why would Web 3.0 be better? What will replace the usual applications for us? In this article we will answer these questions.

History

It all started in 1990. At that time, Web 1.0 appeared, and it was alive until the beginning of 2000.

  • Web 1.0 – allows the user to view pages. That is, there are no interactions with them and all sites and information portals are ordinary static sites. You can't leave a comment or somehow influence what you see, because only the site owner manages everything.
After 2000, a new version appeared, which everyone still uses, and this is Web 2.0

  • Web 2.0 is still relevant at the moment and is likely to be the current version of the Internet for a long time. In this version, users have the opportunity to interact with websites, portals, and so on. You can leave a comment, view ads, influence the rating and much more.
This version of the Internet provides users with the ability to fill websites with content. All this happens on the pure enthusiasm of people and the principle of operation – where more is filled there are more users.
It is quite logical because we all try to reach out to where discussions are taking place and life is boiling.
Next, we should logically expect an update of the Internet capabilities in the Web 3.0 version.

  • Web 3.0 is the future of the Internet. With this version, users will perform all the same actions, but get a kind of profit for it. That is, sites and so on will have mutually beneficial relationships with site users. Now, instead of the pure enthusiasm of users who move the site, there will be an exchange with them, for example, crypto currency. This is very good news for many users, but not everyone knows about such opportunities.

What is the difference between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0?

In fact, there are many differences. For example, 2.0 is moving due to a person's understanding of information on the Internet. And version 3.0 is moving due to the interaction and understanding of data by computer systems. This means that in this version you will be more protected because artificial intelligence will help you in everything.

  • Web 2.0 – Moves at the expense of users. Site owners create convenient conditions for users to stay on their sites as long as possible in the future. Users, staying on the sites, promote it due to enthusiasm, for example, the desire to show friends a cool video (YouTube) or broadcast (twitch).

  • Web 3.0 – Moves due to user interaction with AI. Site owners create conditions where users will earn for what they do. For example, users visit a website and create a certain product there by common efforts, this product is sold on the same site and everyone who put their hand to it makes a profit.

  • Web 2.0 – Has a lot of dead pages and it's easy enough to get caught by scammers. The Internet is very loaded because of the easy accessibility of creating websites. Also, the sites are placed very cheaply, which is why anyone can create their own website and this is what a lot of scammers use.
  • Web 3.0 – An increased level of security is expected, and it will not be so easy to create websites. Yes, you will be able to host your sites anyway, but now the AI will check all sites in more detail for fraud. It is thanks to this that there will be an increased level of Internet security.

  • Web 2.0 – Browsers and websites have a lot of advertising. Sometimes this advertisement is very annoying and because of this, users leave the sites. To block ads, you have to download blockers to the browser.

  • Web 3.0 browsers have built–in ad blockers that will hide intrusive ads from your eyes and allow you to use the Internet in a pleasant environment.

  • Web 2.0 – Blocking cookies is not provided by browsers. It is thanks to these files that sites remember that you visited them and the data that you entered on them. Sometimes you don't want someone to know which sites you have visited, but it is Cookies that will give you away because they cannot be blocked.

  • Web 3.0 – Cookie blocking is present. You can enable it on those sites where you do not want your data to remain.

This is approximately what awaits users who will use the new version of the Web.

Why would Web 3.0 be better than Web 2.0?

Users will make a profit for the work that they carried out on pure enthusiasm.

Why will the site owners pay you? The thing is that users are tired of free work (Viewing advertisements, etc.). People are looking for where they can earn money and how, and most importantly, it should be easy and pleasant. Every time you view an ad, you bring profit to the owners of the company. For example, by viewing ads on YouTube, you bring profit to the author of the video, as well as to the company itself. And if the author of the video gets $ 1 for 1000 views, then the company gets thousands of dollars for the same 1000 views.

And you don't get a cent at all, isn't that fair? It is precisely so that this no longer happens that a mutually beneficial relationship is provided between the site owners and ordinary users in Web 3.0

Also, it is in the third version of the Web that there will be increased security of users' personal data. You will be able to provide the data yourself, but in this case you will make a profit from viewing ads, and if you do not want to provide data to companies, you can not do this. Browsing the Internet will become a much more enjoyable activity than it was before, because you will no longer be disturbed by pop-up notifications and so on.

The speed of the browser will be increased several times by disabling ads and other unnecessary plugins. If now your favorite site loads in a couple of seconds, then in the future it will load instantly.  It listed some aspects that would make Web 3.0 better than its predecessor.

What will replace the apps and websites we are used to?

Now we can say what exactly will replace the applications and sites we are familiar with. Below I will provide a list that will help you understand what you will have to use in the future.

Browser

Chrome -> Brave is a new type of browser that provides many useful features. For example, a built-in ad blocker, VPN, crypto wallet and even rewards. You can use all this today and not worry about the security of your data because this browser is considered one of the most secure in the world.

Music

Spotify -> Audius is a new platform where you can listen to music. This platform is absolutely free and here you can upload your music or listen to any artist without advertising.

Video

Youtube -> Odysee is a place where you can watch videos and also make a profit for viewing ads. Very user-friendly and pleasant interface and there is no advertising if you have not agreed to view it for bonuses.

Payment system

PayPal -> MetaMask – PayPal is one of the protected systems, but even it has its drawbacks. That is why a new Metamask solution has appeared, which allows you not to worry about your savings due to a special blockchain. You've probably heard that crypto wallets can't be hacked, and crypto currency can't be tracked? This is exactly what this payment system provides.

These were some of the main differences that await us in the future when using the Internet version web 3.0. Although they will not be limited to this and there will be even more of them in the future.

Conclusion

At the moment, people are still using the current version of Web 2.0, but if you want to be one of the first and get some dividends from what you do, you should start paying attention to Web 3.0. For example, you shoot a video for YouTube in this case, you can simultaneously conduct two channels and the second will be on Odysee. This way you will use what others use and at the same time be able to be one step ahead of the rest.

After all, over time everything will switch to the new version and that's when everything you did will be taken into account, and you will get your profit and so on.
